What is spatial -omics?
Spatial -omics refers to multiple research fields (e.g. genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, etc…) and a broad set of emerging technologies that systematically measure the spatial position of molecules (e.g. DNA, RNA, protein, etc…) located within cells or tissues.
Why was this newsletter created?
This newsletter was created in January 2023 to collect and share latest trends in the fast growing field of spatial -omics.
SOW was initially started to help the author (a PhD student) stay on top of the field, connect with others interested in the topic, and practice writing for a general audience.
The format of this newsletter is heavily inspired by the late newsletter Winning the Internet.
How are trends determined in the newsletter?
Trends are determined each week with a standardized search query to Twitter, Github, PubMed, and Altmetric API’s.
False positives and missing trends may occur in the newsletter but are always examined before publication.
The Julia UnicodePlots package is used to visualize trends.
